How SentenWord handles your data.

SentenWord helps learners collect sentences, understand vocabulary, review with spaced repetition, and use AI-assisted language tools. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

No sale of personal data We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Optional account features Sign-in enables sync, subscriptions, learning history, and account deletion.
User-controlled media Camera and image analysis are used only when you choose those features.
Service providers Apple, RevenueCat, and backend/AI providers help us operate app features.

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the SentenWord mobile app, related widgets, browser-extension integrations, and related services operated through starrylingo.com. In this policy, "SentenWord," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the SentenWord service.

By using SentenWord, you agree that we may process information as described below. If you do not agree, please stop using the app. You can delete your account in the app, and you can contact us if you need help with privacy or data requests.

Information We Collect

Account information Email address, user ID, authentication token, display name, and profile information you provide. If you use Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide a private relay email, name, and identity token according to your Apple settings.
Learning data Sentence books, saved sentences, words, key points, favorites, collections, review answers, spaced-repetition state, study duration, learning language, native language, and app preferences.
Content you submit Text, articles, sentences, translations, notes, chat messages, and other content you enter or import into SentenWord. AI explanations, translations, and review cards may be generated from this content.
Images and camera input Images you choose to capture or upload for text recognition, object recognition, translation, or learning-content generation. Some image features may send the image to our server for processing.
Subscription data Purchase status, product identifiers, entitlement state, renewal status, and related transaction metadata processed by Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive your credit card number.
Technical data Device language and locale, app version, feature usage, network request metadata, quota state, diagnostic logs, and error information used to operate and improve the service.

How We Use Information

  • To create and authenticate your account, including email verification and Sign in with Apple.
  • To sync learning progress, saved content, review state, study statistics, and widget data.
  • To provide translations, AI explanations, image analysis, dictionary lookup, and article tools.
  • To manage subscriptions, restore purchases, enforce feature limits, and reconcile entitlement status.
  • To personalize the app based on your learning language, native language, and preferences.
  • To respond to support requests, investigate abuse, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.

App Permissions

Camera

SentenWord requests camera access when you use image-based learning features, such as taking a photo to recognize text or objects and generate study content.

Photo Library Add Access

SentenWord may request permission to save generated or shared images to your photo library. This permission is not required for core learning features.

App Group Storage

SentenWord uses Apple App Group storage so the main app and widgets can share signed-in state and review information. This storage remains on your device unless synced with the service as part of app features.

Sharing and Service Providers

We do not distribute your personal information to unrelated parties. SentenWord uses our own backend and databases to store and sync account and learning data, and uses limited service providers only where a feature requires them.

  • Apple processes App Store purchases and Sign in with Apple information.
  • RevenueCat helps us manage subscription status and entitlements.
  • When you use AI explanation, translation, or image-analysis features, the relevant text or image may be sent through our backend to paid AI API providers to generate the requested result.
  • We do not authorize AI providers to use SentenWord user content for model training.
  • Legal or safety requests may require disclosure when we believe it is necessary and lawful.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your learning content for third-party advertising or AI model training.

Retention

We keep account and learning data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide SentenWord. Some records may be retained longer where required for security, payment, legal, tax, dispute-resolution, backup, or abuse-prevention purposes.

Images and AI inputs are retained only as needed for feature delivery, troubleshooting, and safety, unless you choose a feature that stores uploaded content for later access.

Your Choices and Rights

  • You can update your profile information in the app where the feature is available.
  • You can delete learning content or collections using app controls where available.
  • You can revoke camera or photo permissions in iOS Settings.
  • You can cancel or manage subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
  • You can delete your account from the app. After deletion, we delete or de-identify personal information and learning data associated with your account, except for records we must keep for limited legal, payment, security, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes.
  • You can contact us to request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information.

Children

SentenWord is intended for language learners and is not directed to children under the age of 13 or the equivalent minimum age in your region. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us.

Security and International Processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your information may be processed in countries or regions other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when SentenWord changes or when legal, operational, or security requirements change. The "Last updated" date shows when this policy was most recently revised.
